Gerdpill is supplied as delayed-release capsules for oral administration. Each delayed-release capsule contains 20 mg or 40 mg of esomeprazole as esomeprazole magnesium in the form of enteric-coated pellets. Esomeprazole is the S-isomer of omeprazole, which inhibits gastric acid secretion more effectively than omeprazole.
INDICATIONS:
1. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Gerdpill is indicated for: - The treatment of erosive esophagitis - Long term management of patients with healed esophagitis to prevent relapse. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) without esophagitis.
2. Triple therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori Esomeprazole is combined with the antbiotics clarithromycin and amoxicillin (or metronidazole in penicillin-hypersensitive patients) for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. Infection by H. pylori is the causative factor in the majority of peptic and duodenal ulcers.
